Hussam Batal, DMD

Dr. Batal is a Clinical Associate Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of the Oral Surgery Group Practice at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM). He graduated with a dental degree from Damascus University, Syria, and then completed his DMD training through the Advanced Standing program at GSDM. He is a 2003 graduate of the Boston University OMS training program. In 2003, Dr. Batal joined the full-time faculty when he was appointed Clinical Director of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery outpatient clinic at Boston Medical Center. From 2004-2011, he directed the one-year preliminary internship program and currently is Director of the OMS Faculty Practice. 

Dr. Batal’s interests include hard and soft-tissue implant surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Batal is extensively published and is involved in clinical research in the field of implant surgery. He is a member of numerous AAOMS and MSOMS committees and teaches continuing education courses in the field of advanced implantology and OMS coding and billing. Dr. Batal is a paid speaker for Neocis.
